M. CATHERINE JASAN, M.D.

Stanford trained Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. M. Catherine Jasan designed and opened Mill Valley Orthopedic Clinic in September 2003.

A native of Minnesota, Dr Jasan received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Minnesota. And received her Doctor of Medicine degree, with honors, in 1990 from the University of Minnesota Medical School.

Dr Jasan completed an Internship in General Surgery in 1991 at Stanford University Medical Center. She completed her Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Stanford University Medical Center in 1995.

After her year as chief resident at Stanford Medical Center, Dr, Jasan joined the orthopedic surgery department with the Permanente Medical Group at Santa Teresa Hospital in San Jose, where she practiced for six years.

Dr Jasan has been an active board member of the Northern California Orthopedic Society (formerly the Northern California Chapter of the Western Orthopedic Association) since 2007. In 2009 she was the first female president to preside over the NCOS.

Dr. Jasan schedules each new consultation to provide ample time for a thorough work-up and examination. She gets to know each patient individually, answering as many questions and concerns as the patient may have. The patient's overall physical health status and lifestyle are carefully reviewed with the patient before recommending and designing a course of action.
